FAQ

I am going to summarize the plot the best i can without spoilers!

Smoke & Stars follows the story of Jane Smith. After recently aging out of the foster care system, she now works a waitressing job while struggling to support herself financially.

One night, after a particularly awful shift, Jane walks through an abandoned park and feels an uneasy knot settle in her stomach. Though she is utterly alone, she circles and paces frantically, certain that someone is watching her. Within moments, a bright circular light erupts from above, completely encasing her.

Fast forward, Jane finds herself standing before King Remaculus of Ornath, who informs her that she is “The Last Daughter of Domus.”

Twenty years earlier, an evil race of humanoid beings known as the Tenebrae began wreaking havoc across the cosmos, draining entire planets of their light (their very lifeforce) killing billions in the process.

At that time, the Golden Oracle revealed that the Tenebrae’s demise would come through the union of two people: the heir to the Ornathian throne and the last remaining female from the destroyed planet Domus.

To fulfill the prophecy and save the universe from destruction, Jane must marry the King’s son, Prince Jion.

Jane finds the entire concept utterly ludicrous, but she is stranded on a distant planet with no way home. Reluctantly, she begins preparing herself for her impending marriage to Prince Jion.

However, she struggles to ignore the ever-growing connection between herself and Jion’s arrogant, reckless younger brother Glade, Captain of the Castle’s Guard.

I am currently aiming to release Smoke & Stars at the end of April 2026. However, depending on publishing choices (marketing and influence), I may extend it to may.

I would define the Source of Light Trilogy as a “romantasy sci-fi adventure”.

As of right now, yes. From what I have planned for the next two INSTALMENTS, I believe that the story should wrap up within three novels. However, depending on the length of the third book (and whatever creativity may spark within me), I may need to stretch it out into four.

That is actually an excellent question. I know some of you may be thinking, “Jane Smith? That might be the most boring fantasy name I’ve ever heard” and that was entirely the point. Jane is found as a 6 month-old infant in the northern forests. She is never claimed by any relative, and so, her identity is never discovered. The government, instead, named her the most generic name they could think of: jane smith. An homage to the term “Jane doe”.

Though, it makes you wonder. Jane must have had a name before she was discovered. So… What could it have been?

The Source of Light Trilogy is STRICTLY written for readers above the age of 18 years old due to violence, sexual content, strong themes and foul language.

That is a great question and I totally understand your curiosity (hey, we all have our niche). To be completely honest, I would rate Book one at about a 1/3 on the spice meter. HOwever, book two will very much be a 3/3 (so please minors, do not take that as an excuse to read). I am a firm believer that romance and tension need to build up to a point of combustion in order for readers to still feel a thrill during intimate scenes. Other readers love a story that is steamy from the very beginning, and thats ok! We all have out preferences!
